Bonus Rant Alert

Just like vomit leaves a bad aftertaste so does the Obama administration. Now it Cubians burping it up if they know it or not.

Just like everything else he did I didn't get why Obama normalized relations with Cuba. Why? We ran twenty five miles of the marathon, the Castros had one foot in the grave. One has both since! But normalizing also meant legitimizing them so now the chance of correcting their error is over.

So if any of you can tell me why that was a good idea I'd love to be convinced elsewise. And I recall he was back by big business which confuses me too. Their base salary is twenty bucks a month, so how much of that do you think they'll be spending on American goods? Yes I can appreciate a bowl of Cap'n Crunch at midnight here and there but if a box represented nearly a week's work I'd be a bit thinner, as there'd be none of it in my cupboard.

And other then cigars, plantains and 1950's cars I don't see what they have that we want. Though I'm for delivering freedom throughout the world. So yet again we along with the Cubians have reason to say "Thanks Obama" sarcastically of course

 obama is a commie .signed and down with the socialist isea of taking over the world .He wanted to import socilaist propaganda and spys to further the destruction of representative democracy and capitalism ..He hated capitalism , he was mentored by 60's radical commies, he gave away our lunch , weakened us everywhere , screwed over the military and the education system .He did what he was put in there to do by the oligarchs that control the democrat party .They did not think an outsider like trump would interrupt the progression to hillary to finish the takeover .That is why they are apoplectic ! take away the guns quick use personal attack politics , false stories to make lies truth in peoples minds , scare the dumb people to get them put the commies back in charge , same old playbook ,and stupid america full of over emotional mental midgets and lazy asses eat it up. i'm so sad for America .We have slip so far down the slope it may not be possible to get back up no matter what .

 You answered your own post. Cheap labor! Also, lower import costs. Cubans in Cuba will, for the time being, work cheaper than the Chinese and being so much closer, shipping will be faster and cheaper.

 No, I don't think there's a need nor call for more cheap labor. First there's no shortage of them and second our need for them is getting less and less and technology takes their place.

I have said before and it's worth repeating. If Jose is here to pick fruit I get that, but if he has Jose Jr. I want him to take over from his dad and not go to college on a free ride the compete with my grand kids for a job.

It's a fact we need less and less people as time goes by. So Jose Jr. is welcome to return home with dad and his free education through high school should be a great help. That's why I feel the kind and best thing for us to do it to stop the flow. We can't feel bad or be mean if they never were here, nor having to find and remove them. And the money it would save is mind blowing, remember we're already neck deep in debt.

 I agree with you 100%. My response to your post is speculation on why "big business" was backing Obamas move to open Cuba. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he was thinking if we allowed some industry and tourism into Cuba it might slow the flow of illegals coming from Cuba. After all, we have a natural moat between Cuba and the US instead of a hit and miss fence like we have at the Mexican border. A few extra dollars from industry and tourism might slow the flow better than a wall. DAMN, I never thought I would back (or even try to justify) something Obama did. It's all your fault. {Thank you though for kick starting what's left of the grey stuff in my skull.} You provoke thinking.
